Wow....we've been really slack with posts lately. I blame the GFC.
Anyway, I have managed to put together a sub 30min mixtape using only tracks that we have posted on the blog over the past few months. The mix has a disco/electro base, however I have managed to cover pretty much every genre we have thrown up. I hope you guys enjoy it, and please leave comments or shoot us an email with any feedback. Kanye West / Tokin' Black Guy

Over the past few weeks, various sources have been buzzing about a mysterious hip-hop artist, Tokin' Black Guy, and his alleged connection to Kanye West. Some claim West has signed the artist to his label, G.O.O.D. Music, while others state Tokin' Black Guy is actually Mr. West himself.

The real story? According to a spokesperson from Kanye's label, any alleged connections between Tokin' Black Guy and 'Ye are "totally bogus."

Tokin Black Guy may not be 'Ye's latest gamble, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't check out the still-mysterious musician and his ultra-danceable, Outkast-sounding tunes

We've been a bit slack with Kid Cudi releases, but don't get it twisted we are massive fans. I know were a little late with 'Sky Might Fall' but hey better late than never. Contrary to popular belief the track was never officially used for the new Transformer's trailer. Cudi himself mashed up the track to the trailer as a viral marketing scheme. How sick is that?!?! Apparently there are talks to actually use the song in the movie now. To sweeten the deal were throwing up a VIKING remix of Cudi's 'Dat New New'. He's definitely getting love from the electro scene and sure to be a huge crossover star. Oh and for those who have been living under a rock, head to Cudi's website where you can find links to download the very cool 'Plain Pat & Emile Present: A Kid Name Cudi' mixtape.
On a side note, no offense to anyone who is really living under rock, were sure you've done wonders with the place.

Ok so these tracks popped up in the Bayaship'n inbox claiming one track (Body Clock) is produced by Mr. Kanye West and that the artist Tokin' Black Guy is signed to G.O.O.D Music. Now you know bayaship'n doesn't just post stuff without a degree of background checking and after some investagationing (props to ryan shelton) I can not link this dude to either Kanye or his label. Normally we'd print his email and do the A-Town stomp on it, however the tracks aren't bad even if they don't sound like Kanye produced em and the man is innocent until proven guilty. So here are the tracks and can someone fill us in on who the hell Tokin' Black Guy is?

The A-Trak remix of Sebastien Tellier's "Kilometer" dropped a couple of days ago, and its everything i expected. A slightly laidback house jam with those hip hop influences in all the right places. The second installment of Buffetlibre's Rewind is out. For those not familiar of what the team from Barcelona do, Buffetlibre's Rewind gets artists to do remixes or covers of any track from the 70's, 80's or 90's. There's an overwhelming number of tracks in this compilation, some real gems. Your best bet is heading over to Buffetlibre and picking out your favourite artists and even taking a few punts.

Codebreaker in recent times have been the quiet achievers for me ever since that Miami Horror remix and more recently their track "Fire" featuring Kathy Diamond. Their contribution to Rewind 2 is this semi obscure italo-funk number from 1981, "First True Love Affair" originally by Jimmy Ross. We also have The Young Punx take on Belle Stars "The Clapping Song" which i thought was abit quirky and fun.

Here at Bayaship'n we love Fifa and every year they manage to throw out a solid soundtrack.
Last year it had tracks from Digitalism, SMD and my personal favourite Art Brut's Direct Hit. This year has music from The Bloody Beetroots, The Twelves, Cut Copy and Soulwax just to name a few. So everyone should have a copy regardless if u like Fifa or not. Having thrown in these biggg names into the mix, im sure your all going to expect me to post something from one of the names above, but im going to take the high road here and give you Junkie XL's Mad Pursuit and a grand remix by Anoraak.
